The
Melbourne Village Police Department will use this page as
one resource to meet the requirements of the Public Safety
Information Act (PSIA) (FSS. 775.21) to keep
the citizens informed as to the presence of any registered
sexual predators.
A Florida law, effective 7/1/96, requires the Florida Department
of Law Enforcement to maintain an updated list of Registered
Sexual Offenders in this state after a court has made a
written finding designating them as a Sexual Predator as
that term is defined by Florida statute.
Florida Statute 943.0435, created by Ch. 97-299, Laws of
Florida, requires certain sexual offenders to register with
the state, with the information to be provided to FDLE
and made available to the public. This site provides you
with public information regarding registered Sexual Offenders
as that term is defined by law for the purposes of registration
requirements.
Under Chapter 119, Florida Statutes, the Public Records
Law, any of the public records of the Department of Law
Enforcement are available for review upon request, subject
to statutorily-authorized editing of exempt or confidential
information.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- Positive identification of a person believed to be a
sexual offender cannot be established unless a fingerprint
comparison is made.
- It is illegal to use public information regarding a
registered sexual predator or offender to facilitate the
commission of a crime.
Here is the current list of sexual offenders whose last
known addresses were in the Town of Melbourne Village. Each
of them has, in the past, committed or attempted to commit
sex offenses. Click the photo for complete information.
